Delegations of the Day
Staff

Here it is last day of the camp. It came so fast and unexpected. Everyone has their stuff in bags and is ready to go. But it is not quite time for it. We still have 16 hours before camp ends meaning that delegation of USA is leaving the building. Despite the time that is left, staff had their first tear drop rolling down the cheek. We will miss your kids, and we can not imagine how the campsite will look with our delegates, leaders and JC’s. We still have couple more activities to go thru: planting a peace tree, circle of candles, circle of hugs and last but not least message sending. Then during night we will have lullabies that will end only when the last delegate and leader will fall asleep. It is last night when all of us are together so tonight everyone will sleep in a big gym that we wouldn’t miss last moments before we go home.

Already miss you guys,
Staff team

SHOPPING DAY!

Awesome today we had a shopping day were we spent a lot of money. After shopping was done in Porsgrunn, we went back to the campsite and had activity called “contrasts” that tough us to see differences between rich and poor, wealthy and having not enough and many more. Debrief followed the game and kids seemed to understand point of activity.
And day ended as always, flag down, lullabies and lights out.

Good night every one, and see you tomorrow

Sweden

Because of the night activity we had last night, we had a sleep in today so we had no activity 1. For activity 2 we played Fishers and Hunters were we learned a bit about teamwork, trust and how many lives are wasted in the world.
To day we had fancy dinner and casino night. It was awesome. We could play cup game, black jack, dolphin races and slot machine. Also we could visit fortune teller and friendship chapel were we could become friends for life. Sounds fun right?
Hope everything is great with all the families at home!

Open day!

In the morning, everybody started to prepare their stations. With their national costumes on, we took pictures by delegations and everybody had their picture taken.
At two o’clock the visitors started arriving. Then the show started with Michael’s and Cal’s dance and everybody were dancing along. It was quite funny, afterwards each delegation preformed their own show.
We had a great day but is far from finish…
That night, was a special night… It was a night of house of the feelings! The leaders and JC’s woke us up in the middle of the night. Half asleep half awake we went through the school smelling, tasting, hearing, touching and feeling different things. It was so much fun. At the end of activity Justas took a picture of each on of us. We looked scary  The next morning we had a sleep in.

Friday 24th, was a full day. We woke up really “early” which means at 8 o’clock. We were tired and also excited for the evening: we were having our national night in the evening with the Philippines. In the first activity we played some simulation games (handicapped games) and during lunch.
The first game was a running game, where each person had to bring just one shoe to the other side of the field with out getting caught. If you were caught you would loose the parts of your body.
The second game was called “Fil d’Arianne” Each person had to be blinded and follow the rope. “It was hard at first, but a lot of fun”, said Roberta. After this game we went to lunch. “During the meal I understood how difficult can it be having a disability”. After lunch we started to prepare for our national night. We cooked all afternoon for dinner (we were making spaghetti) and we also prepared snack too (bread with Nuttela). Philippines helped us by preparing the desert for the evening. After dinner we had national nights. Everyone enjoyed that. We danced and showed our national videos. Something for every one to learn.

Dear parents

Dear parents,
As all of you know camp is about to end and this brings all the different feelings to participants and to the leaders. Some are sad to go home all though exited to come back to their families; others still do not understand that there is not so much time left. Leaders started to think of their journey back to home. Knowing that is a great responsibility to take care of four kids, manage their luggage, different times of buses and airplanes departures, all the other stuff that needs to be taken care of. So as all of us want that all the delegations would reach their final destination as soon as possible and with least problems, meaning that leaders have to have a good rest before they leave, so please don’t start writing too many emails, asking how it is going, when do they start traveling and ect. Staff team promises you that just after delegation leaves the building, we will announce it on blog. Please be patient and try to make it as easy as possible for the leaders.

Camp dairy, July 22nd
Delegations of the Day
Philippines

The Philippines was the delegation of the day. We started the more serious games. For activity 1 we all played Peace War Peace. Kids responded better than expected and were sure everyone learned a valuable lesson about how easily war can be started and how difficult peace is to rebuild. For activity two everyone did an activity called stereotypes. It was fun learning about what other nationalities thought about your own country. 3rd activity was fun. All leaders went out for dinner and kids were left in campsite with babysitters. All kids watched film and had popcorn. Leaders got back around 12 o’clock. Some of the kids were still up because of the “Vannvitttig night” with out leaders. No one knows what crazy thing kids did.
Hey Cal, Happy Birthday.
